Speech-language pathologists and Audiologists are healthcare professionals who help individuals throughout their lifespan who have speech, language, hearing, balance, feeding, or swallowing disorders.
The field of audiology & speech-language pathology provides extensive opportunities for individuals interested in health care to assist persons with problems of hearing, speech, and/or language communication.

Through appropriate diagnosis and evaluation and through techniques of (re)habilitation and appropriate counseling, individuals with communication problems can be led to goals of successful personal, social, and vocational competence. Program Accreditation:

The Audiology and Speech Pathology Department at East Tennessee State University houses two programs: a Doctorate in Audiology and a Master's in Communicative Disorders with a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • AuD Program Open House. The ETSU Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (AuD) will have their first Virtual Open House on October 17th (Saturday) starting at 10 AM. AuD Open House 10/17/2020. Please check link above for registration information for this Zoom event. (posted 09/27/20)
  • SLP Program Open House. The ETSU SLP graduate program will have a series of Virtual Open Houses for prospective SLP  Students. The scheduled dates are: October 24, 2020
    March 20, 2021
    April 17, 2021. These will be a 1.5 hour zoom events (10 to 11.30 AM) with information about the Master’s Program in SLP. If interested, please RSVP to  to receive more information and the zoom invitation. (posted: 07/27/20)
