Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency
East Tennessee State University’s Department of Physical Therapy has partnered with the James H. Quillen Veterans Hospital to develop an orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.
Program Highlights
- Clinical experience within outpatient and inpatient orthopaedic physical therapy
- Interdisciplinary experience with a variety of different medical providers
- Teaching experiences within the ETSU DPT program
- Variety of mentors with varying backgrounds and specialties
- 150 minimum hours of clinical mentoring
- Onsite weekly coursework related to orthopaedic physical therapy
Residency Requirements
This program is 12 months in length and prepares the resident for clinical practice in Orthopaedic physical therapy. Successful completion of the residency qualifies the resident to sit for the board certification exam in Orthopaedics administered by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists (ABPTS).
