Hurricane Matthew Relief and Support Efforts
Hurricane Matthew resulted in over 1,300 deaths, countless injuries, and massive damage in Haiti and coastal and inland areas along the eastern portions of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. Below are several ways in which you can provide relief and offer support to those who have been affected by Hurricane Matthew.
The White House has created a webpage to provide information about the hurricane and how to respond if you or your friends or family are affected by it:

The page also includes a link for the United States Center for International Disaster Information, which has information on how to donate to individuals and organizations, and opportunities for volunteerism.
The American Red Cross is providing multi-state support and relief to those affected by Hurricane Matthew. The following link offers information on those efforts and a link to donate money:
Save the Children is directing their efforts towards the welfare and safety of children affected by Hurricane Matthew:
Food for the Poor is providing food and support to victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti:

The Humane Society of the United States is deploying workers to assist in the rescue and welfare of animals affected by the storm:
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has assisted or rescued over 1000 animals affected by Hurricane Matthew. Donate to support their efforts here:
The ETSU Response page will be updated as more opportunities for donations and volunteer efforts to assist those affected by Hurricane Matthew arise.
Support Services
The ETSU community should be aware of support services for those students, faculty, and staff who may have been affected by this disaster.
The ETSU Counseling Center provides personal counseling for students, as well as outreach and referrals. Students may access the ETSU Counseling Center at (423) 439-4841. The Counseling Center is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. The Bucs Press 2 service is available 24/7 by dialing (423) 439-4841 and pressing 2 for a counselor.
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a resource for faculty and staff members who need counseling support and referral to other resources.
Student Organization Efforts
Community Service Programs, housed within the Student Organization Resource Center ( SORC), is serving as a clearinghouse for student response efforts. For more information, you may contact serve@etsu.edu .
