I earned my BS in Journalism from the Iniversity of Tennessee and my MA in Communication Studies from ETSU. After recieving my MA in 2005, I was fortunate enough to begin teaching here in fall of 2008. I am thankful to be an ETSU faculty member because of the support I receive in the Department of Communication Studies and Storytelling, the beauty and community of the ETSU campus, and the engagement of the students I get to work with. Outside my responsibilities inside the classroom, I serve as the Learning Support Director in Reading where I work alongside other ETSU offices to create specialized classroom curriculum and instruction to enhance reading skils and provide students an opportunity for success here at ETSU.
Teaching Focus
I teach general education courses spanning Fundamentals of Communication, Argumentation and Debate, Public Speaking, and Interpersonal Communication; all of which explore human interaction and relationships as well as help students increase personal and professional relational skills.

On A More Personal Note
I am from Appalachia and still enjoy exploring all of its outdoors through camping, hiking, and kayaking. My family and I spend a lot of time on the baseball field and basketball court as well as enjoying live music and travelling. I love to read fiction novels, plant flowers, and walk at the park with my chocolate lab.
