I earned my associates degree (emphasis on mass communication, speech communication, and sociology) from Northeast State Community College, my bachelor's degree in Mass Communication (advertising and public relations) from East Tennessee State University, and my master's degree in Communication and Storytelling Studies from East Tennessee State University. I officially started at ETSU in 2023 and, as an educator, my favorite part is always my students. I enjoy spending time with them and building relationships that continue beyond the classroom. Outside of my responsibilities, I serve the department by managing content on both the department website and the department's social media accounts.
Teaching Focus
I typically teach general education courses where I focus on helping students develop their oral presentation and critical thinking skills.

Scholarly Interests / Publications
I am typically interested in most anything related to interpersonal relationships and communication and have conduted research in the areas of marriage and percieved communication requirements in long-term romatic relationships. My thesis focused on the relationship tensions inside the stepparent - biological parent marriage in relation to navigating parenting.
On A More Personal Note
I was born and raised in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York but have also spend time living in the St. Augustine area of Florida, before eventually settling down here. I have a wife and daughter who I love giving the majority of my time, but when I am not spending time with them you can find me enjoying a variety of activities, some of which are going to the gym, fishing, riding my motorcycle, working in my garage, or following the sport of professional strongman.
