About Savannah Bennett
Savannah Bennett (she/her) is the Collections Manager at the Reece Museum at East Tennessee State University. She holds a Master of Arts in Appalachian Studies from ETSU and a Heritage Interpretation and Museum Studies Certificate from ETSU. Savannah completed her Bachelor of Music in Performance at Western Carolina University in 2020. She is currently working on an American Sign Language minor at ETSU. At the Reece Museum, Savannah is busy organizing collections storage, leading research and curatorial projects, managing the museum’s collection database and online collection portal, and overseeing the museum’s disaster plan. Savannah serves as a staff advisor for Student Advisory Board – Reece (SABR) and is chair of the Northeast Tennessee Museum Association (NETMA). Savannah is a member of the Tennessee Disability Coalition’s Small Grants Review Committee and the Appalachian Studies Association’s Special Collections Committee. Her master’s thesis, Susannah and Cold Mountain: Examining the Portrayal of Appalachian Culture in Opera, is available for reading in the ETSU Digital Commons.
