Start out with a hypothetical $10,000 and see how much you can accumulate in five weeks. Using an on-line internet account, you can trade as many times as you wish. Account balances and standings will all be displayed on-line and updated daily. All U.S. stocks over $5 fair game. Sign up ends March 25 and is free to all ETSU students.

     How to get Started

    • Login at Marketwatch.com/sign-up and create a free account.  USE YOUR REAL LAST NAME and an ETSU email if you want to be eligible for awards. Those who enter after March 25 will not be eligible for awards.

    • Then go to https://www.marketwatch.com/games, Click Find Game, or direct link here.

    • Where it says Find a Game, enter etsubullbuck in all lower case.

    • Click game, then a new screen will come up, click the “join game” button. The competition password is gobucs, all lower case. You should now be entered in game.

    • You must be an ETSU students to play for the cash.

    How To Trade Stocks

    • Where it states Symbol Search/Trade enter a ticker symbol or company name. Use slider to set number of shares you want to trade. Then submit order. Note a ticker symbol is a 1-5 letter symbol that tells the site what stock you are trading, i.e. Walmart for example is WMT. Remember you only have $10,000, at least to start! Minimum stock price must be greater than $5.

    • Click submit order.

    • Whenever you log on, simply click your games to get back to your portfolio. Login here: https://www.marketwatch.com/games

ETSU's Applied Equity Class which manages approximately $500,000 for the Tennessee Valley Authority within their Investment Challenge Program Outperformed the S&P 500 for the 5th year in a row in 2023 and for the last 15 of 19 years.  ETSU has earned approximately $100,000 in performance bonus money and has won the competition twice in the last 5 years competing against 25 other schools.  ETSU has had 14 top ten and 7 top three performances.
