Choose Your Degree
ETSU offers two different bachelor’s degrees in economics: Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics. These programs offer various concentrations based on your career goals and interests.

Bachelor of Arts in Economics (B.A.)
The B.A. in Economics from ETSU is a non-business track. Students who choose a B.A. tend to pursue further graduate studies or careers in research, academia, government, or non-profit organizations.
General Economics Concentration
The main B.A. in economics gives a broad understanding of economic theory, principles, and models. Through this program, you will gain a well-rounded understanding of economics and be prepared to pursue graduate study or begin your career in business, government, or non-profit work.International Commerce Concentration
If you aim to pursue an international career, this concentration is for you. The program combines traditional economics coursework with courses in business, geopolitics, and foreign languages to prepare you for career possibilities in government and multinational corporations. -
Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics (BBA)
With a B.B.A. in Economics, you will be well-prepared for employment at all levels of business, the financial services industry, government, and the non-profit sector. Through your studies, you will be equipped to put the economic principles you’ve learned into place by developing solid business operations and strategies.
Business Economics Concentration
Through the business economics concentration, you will focus on the study of markets and the behavior of business firms. You’ll dive deeper into microeconomics and macroeconomics, as well as econometrics and managerial economics.Financial Economics Concentration
The financial economics concentration focuses on macroeconomics and the financial system. You’ll take courses in finance, monetary economics, investments, and more.General Business Concentration
If you want a more broad-based education in business, consider the general business concentration. In addition to learning foundational principles of economics, you’ll learn how to apply that knowledge in a variety of business settings. You’ll learn about economics for health care, labor, government, international, and other fields.
