Senta Scarborough is an assistant professor and head of the journalism program at ETSU.
She holds her MFA in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California Riverside and her BA in Political Science and BS in Philosophy and Religion from Radford University.
A veteran journalist, she has worked in diverse mediums including small print, large and digital newsrooms, a national magazine and an entertainment news television show. Outlets include NBC, USA Today, E! News, The Arizona Republic, SoCal PBS, Us Weekly Magazine and the Newport Plain Talk among others.
An award-winning journalist and communications professional, screenwriter and Emmy-nominated producer, she is the founder of Sentamatic Media, a multimedia and storytelling consultancy.
She is a lifetime member of the National Gay and Lesbian Journalist’s Association where she has served two terms as national board member.
Most recently, she served as communications director for a liberal arts college in Southwest Virginia and is excited to return to East Tennessee where her journalism career began.
