Britney is a Media and Communication major, concentrating in advertising/public relations and minoring in radio, TV and film as well as digital media. She is the president of Alpha Sigma Iota, our department’s service fraternity. She is also the creative director for The Edge 89.5 HD4. This semester, she is competing on our National Student Advertising Competition team for the second year in a row.
“My experience has been nothing short of amazing,” Britney said about Media and Communication. “The department is solely interested in the student and their educational experience. They focus on the student and the value they have within the department. All the professors have been a mentor to me, and I am so lucky to learn from such talented industry professionals.”
Outside of class, Britney has completed two internships. In 2018, she worked on a congressional campaign in public relations. She then did a marketing and events internship in 2019 with the Northeast Tennessee Regional Economic Partnership. More recently, she held an interim position with the Johnson City Development Authority as the marketing and events coordinator for Downtown Johnson City. To top it off, she is the first junior board member for the Northeast Tennessee Entertainment Alliance.
