Colonel (Ret.) Marvin Bolinger
Col. Marvin Bolinger of LaFollette graduated from ETSU with a degree in business administration in 1969, followed by a master’s degree in city management in 1979.
He was commissioned as a U.S. Army second lieutenant in 1969 through the ETSU ROTC program.
During 25 years of service, he held many positions, including Safety Officer, Audit Officer, Assistant Inspector General and Company Commander, until his retirement in 1997.
In civilian life, he was city manager of Athens, Tennessee, and Fredericksburg, Virginia, before accepting his present position as chief operating officer of Silver Companies in Boca Raton, Florida.
