U.S. Army Colonel (Retired) Timothy S. Damico As a native of Etowah, Tennessee, COL (R) Damico enlisted in the Tennessee Army National Guard in 1979 at the age of 17. After attending Basic Training in 1980, he returned to finish high school and was sent for his Advanced Individual Training in 1981. When he returned from training, he enrolled at ETSU and immediately joined the Cadet Corp of ROTC. He received his commission as a second lieutenant in May of 1983, while attending ETSU and served in the Tennessee Army National Guard as an Armor Officer. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1985.
COL Damico began his active-duty service in 1985 as an Aviation Officer. He served
in the 9th Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, Washington, the 2nd Armor Division, Fort
Hood, Texas, while deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operations Desert Storm and Desert
Shield, the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and the Joint Readiness
Training Center, Fort Polk, Louisiana.
After transferring to the Mississippi Army National Guard, Colonel Damico served in
multiple leadership positions until being transitioning to the Individual Ready Reserve
in 2004. He was recalled to active duty in 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom
and Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2009, he was reassigned as the Deputy Commander
of Mobilization at Camp
Shelby, Mississippi, where he was promoted to the rank of Colonel in December of 2010.
Colonel Tim Damico was placed in the Retired Reserve in 2014 after serving the Army
for more than 34 years.
Colonel Damico has been married for 32 years to his wife Sharon and they have 2 children, Isabella and Ryan. His awards include Legion of Merit; Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service with w/1OLC, Air Medal; Army Commendation Medal w/5OLC; Army Achievement Medal w/4OLC; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, 9th award; National Defense Service Ribbon, Bronze Star; Armed Forces Reserve Medal; M Device & 30- year Gold Hourglass; Army Service Ribbon; Southwest Asia Service Medal, 2 Bronze Service Star; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Overseas Service Ribbon; Kuwait Liberation Medal; Parachutist Badge; Senior Parachutist Badge; Air Assault Badge; Army Aviator Badge; Senior Army Aviator Badge; and Master Army Aviator Badge.
