Mr. Scott Curtis is a Bristol, TN native and ETSU Alumni. He currently serves as the
Military Science Instructor for the freshman class and mentors the Eddie Reed Ranger
Challenge Team at East Tennessee State University and its four extension units located
in Tennessee and Virginia.
He was commissioned through the ETSU Army ROTC program with a degree in History and
initially served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Ordnance branch. He served as a Platoon
Leader, Executive Officer, Air Operations Officer and S4 (Logistics Officer) in various
units across Germany. As a Captain, he chose to attend Special Operations selection
and continued his service as a Special Operations Governance Officer. During his tenure,
he served as a Team Chief and Advanced Skills Detachment Director of Training sustaining the global mission capabilities of United States Special Operations Forces
throughout the European theater of operations.
