Dr. Charles W. Jones is an Associate Professor in the Sport and Recreation Management program at ETSU, where he also serves as the Sport Management M.S. Program Coordinator. His research focuses on Consumer Behavior and the Social and Cultural Issues in Sport, Recreation, and Leisure.
Dr. Jones teaches a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses, including History of Sport, Sport in Social Context, Social Issues in Sport, Sport Communication, Facility and Event Management, and Graduate Internship. Prior to entering academia, he gained professional experience in Broadcasting, Media Relations, and Marketing within collegiate and high school sport settings.
He earned degrees from Indiana University, Georgia Southern University, and Frederick Community College.
Outside the classroom, Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with his family, following his favorite college sports teams - including ETSU, Maryland, Georgia Southern, UGA, and The Indiana Hoosiers - and listening to punk rock music. His favorite part of the SARM Department is working with his wonderful colleagues and the program's amazing students.
