ENROLLMENT AND TUITION
Thank you for your interest in the East Tennessee State University Little Buccaneers Early Childhood Learning Program (tax ID # 62-6021046).
Little Buccaneers Early Childhood Learning Program is open to children of students enrolled at ETSU. Little Bucs is a 3-Star rated child care facility which serves children ages 3 months to 5 years. The attendance requirement for children is to be enrolled at least 2 days per week for at least 5 hours each day. This requirement provides the most consistent care possible in order to facilitate relationships with children and families.
Drop-off and pick-up times are constrained to 7:45-10:00 a.m. and 2:00-4:00 p.m.
We operate on a first-come, first served basis to all children of ETSU students. A completed application, a non-refundable application fee of $5, and a copy of your class schedule are required to be considered for an opening.
Once your application is received and an offered position is accepted, please become familiar with the following information:
- You must complete and return a Parent Packet at least 1 week prior to the beginning of the semester
- A concise class schedule must be submitted each semester
- Registration for Little Bucs child care services must occur each semester

Tuition and Supply Fees
Grants do exist to assist with tuition costs. They are allocated as funds are available; however, many students are eligible. Tuition at Little Bucs is based on a semester's enrollment.
For 2022, tuition rates are as follows:
- Infants & Toddlers (3 months to 2 years): $7.00 per hour
- Preschool (3-5 years): $6.00 per hour
- A $50 supply fee is charged for each semester
Some families may have fees subsidized through the Department of Human Services (DHS). The amount paid by DHS plus the amount paid by the family must equal the established fee for the program.
Waiting List
If openings aren't currently available, applicants are placed on a waiting list for the appropriate program (Infant/Toddler/Preschool). Most of our openings occur prior to the fall and spring semesters. Once a spot becomes available in one of our three programs, we will contact applicants in order of application date.
