Sport Management
The ETSU undergraduate Sport Management Concentration introduces students to the sport industry and provides them with the opportunity to study a wide variety of fulfilling sport-related careers. Our program emphasizes a unique mix of academic preparation along with required real-world practical field experiences. The curriculum examines three main segments of the sport industry (performance, production, promotion), and it encompasses all levels of sport: youth, high school, collegiate, professional, amateur, competitive, non-competitive, recreational, private, and nonprofit/profit organizations.

Park and Recreation
The Park and Recreation Management Concentration provides instruction and training in the planning, organization, leadership and management of Park and Recreation agencies and programs. This flexibility allows students to tailor their educational experience to meet their career goals. Students are also given the opportunity to employ theories learned in the classroom in practical settings through the internship program. Students can work in a variety of fields such as community recreation, state/national parks, military recreation, or the outdoor recreation industry.

The ETSU graduate Sport Management degree provides students with the opportunity to critically examine a wide variety of sport industry-related themes and issues. Our program emphasizes both academic preparation along with required practical field experiences.
Our Alumni now work in diverse areas of the sport management field including ticketing operations, sales, player agency marketing, athletic training, college athletics communication, college athletics operations, college and HS coaching, college and HS strength & conditioning, gym management, academic services, facilities owner/operator, athletic directing, etc.
Regular Admission:
Each of the following items are required for admission into the graduate-level Sport Management Program. The review committee considers everything equally, so being particular strong in one area could definitely help you gain admission despite a weakness in one or more of the other categories.
- Undergraduate degree in physical education, exercise science, sport management or closely related field (Transcripts required for all universities attended, incl. dual-credit programs)
- 2.7 cumulative undergraduate grade point average on a 4.0 scale
- A copy of your resume
- Contact information (i.e., name, address, telephone, e-mail address) for at least three academic references
- Essay explaining goals and reasons for desiring to study with the Department of SERK and ETSU
No GRE or GMAT required
Conditional Admission:
Students who are unable to meet regular admission requirements, may apply for conditional admission.
