Teen Renaissance Camps
Grades 8-12
June 2-6 Teen Reece Museum
Teen Camp for 7th graders and up, Mosaic Mountain: Materials of Collaboration, will
be in session June 2nd to the 8th. Campers will create multiple artworks to be exhibited
in one of the Reece Museum's three galleries. Collaborating with local artists and
museum staff, campers will work together to create individual works of art through
collaborative group projects exploring different media. The exhibition will open to
the public at the end of the camp and remain on display through September 12, and
students will be able to take their work home at the end of the exhibition. Beyond
creating an exhibition campers will enjoy daily indoor and outdoor activities, including
campus and museum tours. Mosaic Mountain will give campers an opportunity to create
and exhibit art in a professional museum, learn new and interesting art making techniques
with regional artists, and have a mountain of fun!
July 7-11 Teen Filmmaking Camp
Campers will learn the basics of filmmaking, and work together to create a short film.
Campers will learn about screenwriting, acting for the camera, directing, cinematography,
and digital video editing. Campers should bring their lunches, but an afternoon snack
will be provided. Registration is limited to 20 campers, rising 8th-12th graders,
so don't wait to join us for this Teen Filmmaking Camp! Camp will meet from 8 am to
5 pm.
July 14-18 Egyptology-with visit to King Tut at Biltmore
An immersive exploration of ancient Egyptian culture! Campers will dive into the fascinating
world of pharaohs, pyramids, hieroglyphics, and mythology through hands-on activities,
creative projects, and engaging discussions. The experience culminates in a field
trip to the awe-inspiring King Tut Exhibit at Biltmore, where history comes to life
through stunning artifacts and interactive displays. Perfect for curious minds and
future historians! Registration is limited to 20 campers, rising 8th-12th graders,
so don't wait to join us! Camp will meet from 8 am to 5 pm.
July 21-25 Teen Enginering Camp
A camp for rising 8th graders - 12th graders, Campers will build and design engineering
projects. They will also learn to market their projects using software and Microsoft
Office. Registration is limited to 20 campers, rising 8th-12th graders, so don't wait
to join us for this Teen Engineering Camp! Camp will meet from 8 am to 5 pm. A Handbook
will be sent the Wednesday before camp.
No Refund after camp starts. $50 administrative fee if a refund is requested.
*Remember to bring a bag lunch & a drink each day. TEEN Camps will have a drop-off and pick-up at specific locations based on where they will be for their camp. Please check the Parent's Handbook for specific locations. Wear clothing that may get dirty.
