Visitor (B-2) Visa for Friends and Family
Family and friends from abroad who wish to visit and/or attend an ETSU international student's graduation ceremony may apply for a B-2 visa from the United States consulate. International Enrollment & Services recommends that students read the information provided on the U.S. Department of State Visitor Visa webpage for details.
Since the purpose of a tourist visa does not directly involve ETSU sponsorship, International Enrollment & Services does not issue invitation letters to parents or guests of international students to attend commencement. Instead, the student will write a letter of invitation for the visitor and secure an enrollment verification/letter of good standing via Goldlink. Review instructions here.
