BECOME AN ETSU SUPPER CLUB HOST
Open your home. Share a meal. Make a global impact.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Supper Club host. By welcoming international students into your home, you play a meaningful role in helping them feel supported, valued, and at home here in East Tennessee. Hosting is simple, flexible, and incredibly rewarding — and you don’t need to prepare elaborate meals or have a large household to participate.
Families, couples, and individuals are all welcome to host.
What is Supper Club?
Supper Club connects local hosts with small groups of 1–4 international students for a semester-long cultural exchange. Hosts invite their assigned students to their home for three relaxed meals spaced throughout the semester. These gatherings can be as simple as a dinner you’re already planning, a weekend brunch, a backyard cookout, or even a dessert night.
There is no weekly commitment and hosts choose dates that work best for their schedules. The goal is genuine conversation, cultural connection, and warm hospitality.

Why Host International Students?
Hosting gives you the opportunity to:
- Build cross-cultural friendships
- Support students who may be far from home for the first time
- Learn about diverse cultures, traditions, and foods
- Share your own traditions, holidays, and family experiences
- Make a lasting impact in a simple and meaningful way
Many hosts tell us Supper Club becomes one of the most memorable and joyful parts of their year.

Common Questions
-
Do I have to cook a full meal?
No at all! A casual dinner, brunch, dessert night, or seasonal treat is perfectly fine. Whatever you'd like to offer! -
Do I need to provide transportation?
Many students do not have cars, so providing a ride is helpful when possible (but not required). Students and hosts will work out details together. -
Can individuals or couples (without kids) host?
Yes! All are welcome--families, couples, and individuals. Students simply love connecting with local people outside of campus.
