Dr. Audrey Depelteau, director of the ETSU Innovation Lab, trained to be a Climate Reality Leader in 2013 and has since given more than 50 presentations. She recently served as a mentor during leadership training in Atlanta with attendees from over 40 countries.
As a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps, she is part of a global network of advocates and influencers trained to talk about the impacts of climate change and the solutions at hand. The CRP is committed to building a more just and equitable world, one where all voices are heard and respected. They recognize that a diverse and inclusive movement is critical to solving the climate crisis.
Her role as mentor is to assist and support new Climate Reality Leaders throughout their training and to support them throughout the year following the training in taking action and assisting them to build their capacity to drive change in their communities. Her mentees include faculty and staff from Vanderbilt University, the University of Tennessee, Sewanee, Yale University , K-12 educators, journalists, manufacturers, as well as leisure and hospitality, and technology professionals. She is also supporting three key employees from Caney Fork Farms with their agriculture, educational and land management programs.
“I am honored to be able to assist leaders from across the state and nation,” she said. “Together we can find and make the solutions and transitions, in an inclusive and positive way, that creates jobs and unlimited opportunities.”
In her role at the Innovation Lab, located at 2109 W. Market St., Depelteau assists aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners to develop their ideas from concept to commercialization.
