Golden Fifties Club during commencement

JOHNSON CITY (Dec. 13, 2019) – Members of the East Tennessee State University Class of 1970 and Golden Fifties Club who are interested in serving as class reunion agents for the 2020 Spring Weekend are being sought by the ETSU National Alumni Association.

These agents will help plan the 50th reunion for their class and contact former classmates to encourage them to attend the activities planned for the weekend of May 8-9, 2020.  The class reunion agent planning meeting will be held Jan. 9.

During the two-day celebration, reunion groups will take part in several special activities, including an induction ceremony of the Golden Fifties Club – comprised of ETSU alumni who graduated 50 or more years ago.  The weekend also features a tour of the campus and city, class photographs and other special recognition opportunities.

The Spring Weekend will culminate on Saturday, May 9, when new and returning Golden Fifties Club members will don golden caps and gowns and lead the Class of 2020 into the Mini-Dome for the 10 a.m. commencement ceremony.  A breakfast will be held prior to the ceremony, with special seating provided for Golden Fifties Club members and their guests.
