Radiologic Science

ETSU's Radiologic Science B.S. degree completion program prepares students for career advancement within the field of Radiologic Science and Allied Health Services. Students must have completed an associate of applied science (AAS) degree or hold certification in Radiologic Science and be licensed or license-eligible in their discipline in order to be eligible for this online degree completion program. Students will study healthcare management, patient information and management, and health care law and compliance, among other topics. Students will develop professional leadership skills ideal for those pursuing management positions within the profession.

This degree completion program is designed for working radiologic professionals. It offers the opportunity for radiographers to obtain their bachelor's degree by using more of their AAS hours than would normally transfer to a four-year institution.

Why should I pursue this program at ETSU?
The fully-online Radiologic Science B.S. degree completion program offers students who have already completed an associate degree or hold certification in Radiologic Science the opportunity to complete a bachelor’s degree in a shorter amount of time. Students who have already completed their associate degree will be awarded credit for 47 credit hours of major courses through the online degree completion program, allowing them to complete their bachelor’s degree in as few as 30 credit hours—that's only two semesters of work!

Do students need to have a background in this field? What are the prerequisites?
Students must have completed an associate degree in Radiologic Science or hold certification in Radiography and be licensed or license-eligible in their discipline in order to be eligible to the online Radiologic Science B.S. degree completion program.
It is recommended that students complete HSCI 2230/2231 – Introduction to Microbiology/Lab or equivalent before enrolling in the online degree completion program. Does this program require an internship or field work?
Students will complete a Clinical Education course in which they will be paired with a mentor to complete a professional project. This experience is designed to be flexible and work around the schedule of working professionals and may be completed in the student’s current workplace.

What is the time to completion?
The online Radiologic Science B.S. degree completion program is designed to be flexible and adaptable in order to meet the needs of students who work full time and have family obligations.
Students who pursue the program full-time may complete the program in as few as two semesters. Students who pursue the program part-time will work with a program coordinator to develop of course of study.
Unofficial transcript evaluations can be completed for prospective students in order for them to see how many classes would be required for them to graduate from the Radiologic Science B.S. degree completion program.
