Dr. Stacy Brown earned her B.S. in Chemistry from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1998 and her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences from The University of Georgia in 2002. After teaching undergraduate chemistry at The Citadel from 2002-2007, she joined the inaugural faculty of East Tennessee State University Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Brown was promoted to Associate Professor in 2013, Professor in 2019, and currently serves as the Chair of Pharmaceutical Science. She specializes in analytical chemistry with expertise in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry method development and validation, conducting research in areas including drug stability, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, and biomarker quantification. Dr. Brown has been recognized for her innovative teaching approaches using Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and case-based methods across various pharmacy courses. Beyond her academic responsibilities, Dr. Brown has demonstrated service to the profession through editorial board membership for Biomedical Chromatography and Journal of Chromatography B, and active engagement with the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS).
