CHARGE: |
The Intellectual Property Committee (IPC) is authorized by the East Tennessee State University Intellectual Property Policy. The IPC shall, in accord with the University's Intellectual Property Policy, conduct investigations as it deems necessary to evaluate invention and authorship disclosures (Intellectual Property [IP]) by faculty, staff, and students at East Tennessee State University (ETSU). Based on its evaluation of the IP, the IPC shall make a recommendation to the Vice Provost for Research regarding ownership of the IP. With its recommendation as to ownership of IP, the IPC shall also recommend whether patent or copyright protection should be sought. The IPC may also, if needed, consult ad hoc experts in making its investigation. |
