Career Services - Located on the 1st Floor of the ETSU Sherrod Library, Room 140, career services posts jobs and career opportunities to Handshake at https://etsu.joinhandshake.com. ETSU students and alumni can login using ETSU email credentials or contact their office at (423) 439-4450 for more information. They conduct workshops and seminars on career planning, offer Focus2 for career exploration options, can assist with résumé reviews and building needs, shares best practices to prepare for interviews, and they can share information on job hunting skills. Additionally, these services are available on an individual basis for ETSU Students and Alumni with appointments reserved through Handshake.
Counseling Center Office - Located on the 3rd floor of Nell Dossett Hall, this office provides individual and group counseling concerning personal and social problems and choice of career or education major. Disability Services Office - Located on the 3rd floor of Nell Dossett Hall, this office is committed to the goal of integrating students with disabilities into the campus community to the fullest extent possible. ETSU Commission for Women Standing Committee - Members of this standing committee make recommendations addressing policies and procedures which relate to equitable treatment issues, make recommendations addressing enhancement of the campus climate with respect to opportunity for women, and make recommendations aimed at improving institutional commitment to include practices in recruitment, retention, and development of women. Office of Equity and Inclusion - The Office of Equity and Inclusion is located on the 1st floor of Burgin E. Dossett Hall, Room 109. One of their premier missions is to build awareness of equity and inclusion institution wide, thereby affirming the educational value of a diverse and fully inclusive campus community. The office serves to promote an environment where people come first, are treated with dignity and respect, and are encouraged and supported to achieve their full potential. Office of Human Resources at ETSU - Located in Burgin Dossett Hall, Room 307,this office provides management and oversight of employee services and benefits, along with personnel policies and procedures. Services include the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which provides employees and their eligible family members confidential, no-cost assistance for a broad range of personal and work-related concerns. University Health Center - Located in Nicks Hall, Room 160, this health center provides professional consultation services at no cost to students. There are reduced fees for procedures, laboratory tests, medications, immunizations, and x-rays. The goal of the clinic is to promote and maintain the health of students. University Wellness Committee - This committee is dedicated to providing the campus community with programs aimed at promoting health and wellness while also providing education about disease prevention. They plan, implement and support health promotion activities and services for faculty, staff, and students in cooperation with The University Health Center, Housing and Residence Life, Counseling Center, Human Resources, and the Division of Health Sciences. Women's Studies - Located in the Campus Center Building, Room 211, this program examines how diverse women have contributed to history, social processes, culture, politics and economics, and how gender intersects with ability, age, class, culture, ethnicity, nationality, race, religion, and sexuality. A minor is offered at East Tennessee State University. Courses are offered from of a variety of departments, including Criminal Justice, History, Literature and Language, Communication, Sociology, Philosophy, Psychology, Social Work, Art, and Nursing.
