Navigate360 Tech Tips
This page serves as the central hub for tech tips shared through the Academic Advisement Weekly Update. Here, users can access current and archived tips to stay informed, troubleshoot common issues, learn new things, and catch up on any information they may have missed.
Latest Updates - Fall 2025
- Launch your Early Outreach Campaigns: See the 202580 Early Outreach Process Doc for instructions on setting up your EO Campaigns.
- Academic Alerts Website: Visit the newly launched Academic Alerts website! This site serves as a central hub for Students, Staff, and Faculty to stay current on Alert expectations and Outreach processes.
- Modified Actions Menu in Campaigns and V3 Reporting: EAB has modified the Actions menu in Campaigns and V3 Reporting to a Bullseye icon. See the Modified Actions Menu Scribe for a visual tutorial of taking an action or associating Eligible Appointments in a campaign. The same icon is the new Actions menu in V3 Reporting.
- Modified Merge Tags in Campaigns: EAB has modified Merge Tags, now referred to as Merge Fields. In addition to Campaign Merge Fields, additional fields are available. See the Rich Text Editor user-guide to view this update.
- Say Goodbye to V2 Reporting: As of December 31, 2025, V2 Reporting will vanish, leaving V3 as the sole Reporting version. While the option to run a report in V2 is going away, so is any Saved V2 Report. If you have a report saved in V2 and need help saving the report in V3 before December 31, 2025, please let Navigate Coordinator, Rachel Swatzell (swatzellr@etsu.edu), know ASAP!
- Minors as Standalone Fields: Student Minors are now visible as independent fields. On a student's profile, you will see Minor as a standalone field under Student ID. This change comes with some administrative maintenance since EAB removed Minors from Categories to make this possible. Unfortunately, Minors are no longer auto assigned to their respective Minor Advisor, meaning Minor assignments must now be managed manually. As a courtesy, Rachel has updated all Fall 2025 Minor assignments, and will conduct a term-based audit of minors during the Advisor Audit period. To generate a list of Minors and maintain assignments, see the V3_Generating Minor user-guide.
- Sign-up for V3 Reporting Training: We recently announced V2 Reporting is being sunset on December 31, 2025. To ensure users can continue access the data and insights they need, we are offering multiple V3 Training instances during December 2025 into January 2026. Fill out the Navigate360: V3 Training Sign-up Form to RSVP. If the synchronous trainings do not align with your schedule, please email Navigate Coordinator, Rachel Swatzell (swatzellr@etsu.edu), to set up training for you/your unit.
- Spring 2026 Pre-Orientation Registration Campaigns Outreach: See the Process Document - Orientation Advising Spring 2026 for instructions on setting up your SP26 Orientation Campaigns.
- Spring 2026 Re-Enrollment Support: See the Process Document - Reenrollment Support Spring 2026 for instructions on documenting student contact in Navigate360.
- Minor Advisor Assignments: With the transition of Minors as standalone fields and moving to manual assignments, the Academic Advisement Leadership Team (AALT) and Office of the Executive Director of Academic Advisement (OEDAA) established that all professional academic advisors must be assigned to their students for minors they advise. Advisors can distinguish assigned students from their Navigate360 Staff Home, selecting the dropdown next to Relationship Type. See the Minor Relationship Type Selection Scribe for visual details on distinguishing your assigned students.

- 25% of the total credits required for the degree must be earned at ETSU, and
- 6 credits in the major must be earned at ETSU
- Updated Navigate360 Availabilities: The Academic Advisement Leadership Team (AALT) and Office of the Executive Director of Academic Advisement (OEDAA) established a consistent and transparent process for setting Advisor Availability to ensure that students have access to accurate and up-to-date appointment options. See the UG Advising Availability Guidelines for Availability expectations, in which all Availabilities should adhere to as of January 2025.
