Appalachian Places digital magazine continues our Center's long tradition of highlighting the people, places, cultures, ideas, and issues relating to the Appalachian Region.
Appalachian Places builds on the legacy of of the print magazine, Now & Then: The Appalachian Magazine, which the Center published for 32 years. Appalachian Places publishes a wide range of content, including news and feature articles, essays, interviews, poetry, photo essays, book and music reviews, and fiction. Submissions must relate to the Appalachian region or to issues and themes shared by highland regions around the world. Submissions and inquiries are welcome.
