ACRI Annual Conference

Appalachian Collegiate Research Initiative 2025 Student Research Forum, Dec. 5-6, 2025, Washington, DC
Each December, approximately 150 students and faculty convene in Washington, D.C. for the annual Appalachian Collegiate Research Initiative (ACRI) Symposium. This three-day event features student presentations of their community-based research, poster presentations, discussions of regional and community issues, and opportunities for students to explore the nation's capital. The event presents a unique opportunity for these students and faculty from up to 16 colleges and universities, located throughout the Appalachian region, to interact and share ideas with one another and with ARC staff.
The conference also gives ARC administrators and staff an opportunity to learn about diverse issues and needs within specific Appalachian communities, and, most importantly, allows students to explore ways to meet the needs of these individual communities and of the region.
