Chemistry is the central science, and a degree in Chemistry is among the most versatile you can pursue.
Chemistry connects the physical and life sciences with mathematics and the applied sciences such as medicine, synthetic biology and engineering. A degree in Chemistry prepares you for immediate employment, graduate studies (chemistry, materials science, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical engineering and more), or professional school (pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, optometry, environmental health and more).
The Department offers five different Bachelor of Science concentrations to match your
educational and career goals: Chemistry (with minor), Chemistry & Pharmacy 3+1, ACS
Chemistry, Biochemistry and Chemical Physics, with the last three bearing approval
of the American Chemical Society. We also offer the Master of Science in Chemistry,
which may be combined with the Bachelor's in a 5-year, accelerated bachelor's-to-master's
(ABM) program, with teaching assistantships for financial support.
