Hazard Mitigation Planning
Hazard mitigation is the effort to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters. The GADS Lab develops hazard mitigation plans which enable governments and higher education entities to identify risks and vulnerabilities associated with natural disasters, and develop long-term strategies for protecting people and property from future hazard events. Below are examples of hazard mitigation plans GADS has developed for Tufts University and East Tennessee State University. The Sevier County (TN) hazard mitigation plan can be available upon request.
