How to Get Involved
Lab Roles
The CARE lab regularly recruits new undergraduate or post-bac research assistants for two-semester lab commitments ranging from 5-10 hours per week.- Research assistants have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of activities,
including:
- literature reviews
- data entry
- transcribing of audio- or video-recorded content
- in-person or virtual data collection with people involved in the legal system and/or legal system staff

Research assistants must meet the following qualifications:
Flexible availability during business hours- Able to commit to two semesters in the lab
- Appropriate interpersonal skills and professionalism
Applicants will be given preference if they meet the following qualifications:
- 3.5 GPA or higher
- Highly motivated to engage in research
- Plans to apply to graduate school
- Ability to sign up for Independent Study credit hours
- Have lived experience of substance use or criminal involvement
