Director's Note
Welcome to Skid Row - home to the poor, downtrodden, cast-offs of society. Home to Seymour Krelborn, the protagonist of our story, who started life as an orphan, a child of the street here on Skid Row. Seymour’s two greatest desires are to win the affections of his beautiful, kind, unattainable co-worker Audrey, and to find a way out of Skid Row. This is where our Faustian tale begins…
And welcome to the ETSU Department of Theatre and Dance production of Little Shop of Horrors! Based on the 1960 Roger Corman film of the same name, Little Shop of Horrors, the musical, is a love letter to those science-fiction/horror B-movies of the late 1950s and early 1960s and is told musically through the rock and roll and doo-wop stylings of that time. We hope you have as much fun watching Little Shop of Horrors as we have performing it for you.
Setting: In and around Mushnik’s Flower Shop on Skid Row
Time: “The early year of a decade not too long before our very own” (or 1960)
There will be a 15 minute intermission during this performance.
Please silence your cell phones.
