For Potentional Clients Who Want to Hire BucHouse:

Are you interested in harnessing the marketing and media skills that our new generation of students have to offer? 

What To Expect:

Be thorough and specific: Fill out all the required information on the Client Inquiry Form with as much detail as possible. Please understand that most projects take at least two weeks to finetune details and match with a suitable student/faculty lead so projects with immediate deadlines will not be accepted.

Be patient: If we determine that your project is a good fit for BucHouse, we will reach out to you to set up an initiate meeting to discuss scope of work, expectations, budget and timeline. Please understand that due to student availability, we are limited in how many projects we can take on per semester. 

Communicate Efficiently: If BucHouse accepts you as a client, we will have our students sign an NDA and begin working on your project immediately. Thus, an initial payment of 50% of the total project cost is requested upfront to allow for project commencement.

 

For Students Who Want to Join BucHouse:

Are you a School of Marketing and Media student at ETSU who wants to begin building their portfolio of work? We are interested in students who have knowledge in photography, video creation and editing, graphic design, web site building, and much more!

We evaluate you application: Please make sure to Include all relevant skills and experience. Speak another language? Let us know! 

We check your references: As the goal of BucHouse is to allow the student to experience the client side of projects, we ask that each student provide a professional reference that can attest to their knowledge and skillset.

We schedule a meeting/training session: We understand that most students have not had the opportunity to interact in a client-based setting. We discuss with you expectations before ever putting you in front of a client.

We begin: You, along with your faculty mentor, will begin crafting the project deliverables for your client.

Working on projects at BucHouse that test my design skills has given me a valuable glimpse into what a real career in my field could look like. These projects taught me how to work independently, respond to faculty and client feedback, and deliver a final product that checks all the boxes for the clients. Because I was so involved in these projects, I’ve also gained a clearer idea of the direction I want to go moving forward professionally, and it honestly felt rewarding to help someone with a real problem and be able to put that experience on my resume. I am very glad I decided to submit my application for BucHouse as soon as I heard of them, and I would strongly recommend any students who are in the College of Marketing and Media to apply for a chance to have opportunities like the ones I had!
