Literacy Event
America Reads tutors work hard in their day-to-day interactions with their tutees, but they also enjoy promoting literacy through special events! For example, tutors love partnering with schools to bring fun and educational events to students during the National Education Association’s annual event, Read Across America! In addition, tutors plan their own special events to carry out in schools. In the past, tutors have hosted school-wide, after school literacy events with fun stations for children and parents to interact with. They have also held BINGO for Books events! Several of our tutors are even utilizing training from Niswonger Foundation's Project on Track training provided last year!
