Frannie has taught for the Division of Cross-Disciplinary Studies since 2008 and has taught at ETSU for the past 18 years. Her research interests align with cultural studies and she has developed several special topics courses that are cross-disciplinary including Food Choice and Society; Reality Television and American Culture; Are We Alone? Our Search for Evidence of Alien Life; and Artistic Activism: The Creative Conduit for Social Change. She also teaches Interdisciplinary Design Thinking and the Senior Capstone Course sequence: CDST 4110 and 4210. She is a First Generation College Graduate and values the opportunity to guide students to achieving their educational goals.
She enjoys musical theatre, coffee, and everything celestial. She was a “ghost hunter” with a paranormal investigative group and spent a night in Gilbreath Hall. Yes, it is haunted… She is vegan and advocates for animals through involvement in Animal Rights Organizations. She especially loves being with her three daughters and their families, including her 2 grandsons and granddaughter. Time spent with them is the most magical!
