Summer Research Assignments (SRAs) at Clemmer College
Clemmer College provides a financial incentive program for Summer Research Assignments (SRAs) so that recipients can focus on research and scholarly activity rather than teaching in the summer. The recipients are chosen through an application process, in which proposals are submitted to the Internal Research Advisory Committee. “Part of the reason we decided to award SRAs was to show how much the Clemmer College embraces faculty research. Providing researchers with undistracted time to complete a set of observable and measurable objectives that result in a variety of scholarly products is invaluable,” says Dr. Pamela Mims, Associate Dean of Research and Grants. “We want to continue to provide similar incentives in the future as we hope they have a good return on the investment.”
Applications for 24-25 academic year will come out in February 2025.. In the meantime,

process.
SRA Highlight
Dr. Amanda Frasier, Assistant Professor in CUAI, discusses her experience following
the application of CCEHD's Summer Research Assignment (SRA) Award. Dr. Frasier has
received SRA funding for 2022 and 2023. This SRA Project Highlight focuses on how
Dr. Frasier utilized her internal funding during the Summer 2022 term and her plans
to develop this pilot program following her preliminary results.

Kwangman Ko, PhD
Dr. Kwangman Ko is an Associate professor of the Department of Counseling and Human
Services at East Tennessee State University. His research has explored how diverse
familial and various cultural contexts link to relationships and dynamics among family
members in life stages. His main research focuses on parenting, especially fathering
and fatherhood, and also covers psychological well-being issues. He applies various
analytical skills in his research, including multi-group structural equation modeling
and latent class/profile analysis, and he does mixed-method research with multiple-segment-factorial-vignette
design. He is also interested in applying machine learning analysis techniques to
social science.
