Research/Teaching Interests:
The main goal of our laboratory is to bridge the gap between preclinical alcohol use disorder (AUD) and alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) research. We study mechanisms that underlie both diseases, contributing to both alcohol consumption and subsequent organ injury using biochemical, pharmacological, and behavioral models. Ultimately, we aim to identify novel targetable pathways controlling AUD and ALD initiation and progression that we can translate to the clinic for AUD and ALD patients.
