East Tennessee State University’s Department of Management, Marketing and Supply Chain invites business and IT professionals and managers, recruiters, educators and government representatives to join the Appalachian Highlands Supply Chain and Digital Technology Summit in October.
The event is scheduled for October 20 at the ETSU Martin Center for the Arts. It runs from 8:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m., with an optional networking lunch with ETSU supply chain and computing students from 12:15-1:30 p.m.
The summit aims to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the industry.
The agenda will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including regional supply chain economic development, sustainable productivity in Tennessee, best practices in manufacturing extension programs, supply chain digital technology, artificial intelligence and the future of supply chain management in a post-COVID world.
“The Appalachian Highlands Supply Chain and Digital Technology Summit will be an opportunity to gain fresh insights and strategies that are reshaping the future of supply chain management,” said Dr. Matthew Jenkins, assistant professor of Supply Chain Management. “We will explore innovative approaches to drive success in this dynamic field.”
Along with ETSU faculty, the event features two guest speakers, Cary Daniel and Dwaine Raper. Daniel is the senior director at Alvarez & Marsal's Private Equity Services - Operations Group in Miami. He brings over 25 years of experience in optimizing manufacturing, supply chain management and logistics operations. Raper is the director of the Manufacturing Extension Program at the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services. He will share insights from his extensive experience helping Tennessee manufacturing companies improve performance and profitability.
The Summit is free to attend, but registration is required for admission. Attendees
can also opt for an optional networking lunch to foster connections within the industry.
