ETSU will honor more than 2,000 graduates during its May Commencement ceremonies featuring distinguished alumni speakers and milestone celebrations.

In a transformative move to support first-generation and low-income students, ETSU is launching the Mary V. Jordan Center (Jordan Center), a support hub to guide students from application to career placement.

Dr. Keith Johnson has been named the vice president for Student Success at East Tennessee State University. He has more than 30 years of experience in higher education.

Over the past three academic years, the ETSU Board of Trustees and leaders across the institution have been working to increase faculty and staff salaries with the goal of bringing ETSU employees’ wages in line with market rates and our institutional peers.

East Tennessee State University (ETSU) reported its highest fall-to-spring persistence rates since 2020 during the quarterly meeting of the Board of Trustees held earlier today. More than 92% of fall 2024 students returned for the spring 2025 semester, with 90.4% of first-year students continuing their studies into the spring semester.

East Tennessee State University’s Board of Trustees approved across-the-board pay increases for full-time, benefits-eligible employees and committed an additional $3.2 million to bring employees’ salaries closer to market rates and comply with the new requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

East Tennessee State University’s Board of Trustees will hold its quarterly meeting and several committee meetings on Friday, November 15. All meetings will be conducted in person at the D.P. Culp Student Center, East Tennessee Room.

Given the ongoing emergency resulting from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, ETSU will extend the cancelation of in-person and online classes through Friday, October 4. The exception will be classes for Quillen College of Medicine, which will resume instruction on Thursday, October 3.
