Instruction
The Archives of Appalachia is dedicated in providing East Tennessee State University faculty and instructors with a variety of learning opportunities for their classes. Working directly with primary source materials provides students with opportunities to think and write critically, cultivate personal relationships with the history of southern Appalachia, and engage the complex perspectives and narratives of the past.
How to Request Instruction
The Archives ask that faculty fill out the Instruction Request Formas soon as they know the preferred date(s) of instruction. Notification of one week or more is required for scheduling archival instruction classes. Classes are scheduled on a first come, first served basis according to the Education
and Outreach Archivist's availability. Instructors are requested and encouraged to
attend the archival instruction session.
If you have questions about archival instruction or materials for your class, please email Ryan Bernard, Education and Outreach Archivist at bernardr@etsu.eduor call (423)439-6990.
