Director: Aubrey Dueweke, Ph.D.
Dr. Aubrey Dueweke is a bilingual (English-Spanish) clinical psychologist, Assistant Professor, and director of the EASI Lab in the Department of Psychology at ETSU. She earned her Ph.D. in 2019 from the University of Arkansas, and completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Hispanic Studies at Oberlin College. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Mental Health Disparities and Diversity Program at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Dueweke’s research focuses on using nontraditional service delivery models, like primary care behavioral health (PCBH) integration, telehealth, and community outreach, to increase access to mental health care for underserved populations. In addition, her research aims to understand and address the structural and attitudinal barriers that can impede help-seeking for mental health concerns. She has clinical expertise working with individuals experiencing posttraumatic stress. In her free time, Dr. Dueweke enjoys baking, reading, exploring new restaurants, and hiking with her husband and dog!

Donna Zastrow is a third year student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences from Northern Arizona University in 2017. She spent the next several years working at a community behavioral health clinic in Texas. Her primary research interests include the intersectionality of mental and physical health, and increasing access to care using the Primary Care Behavioral Health Model, especially in regards to interventions for trauma and suicidality. In her spare time Donna enjoys traveling and trying local cuisine, hiking with her dog Everest, crafting, and hanging out with friends.
Mara Sindoni is a third year student in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. Program. She graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 2019 with a BA in Psychology and Religious Studies. She spent the next few years as a project coordinator at the Syracuse VA Center for Integrated Healthcare where she worked on projects that tested and implemented interventions for PTSD in the primary care setting. Her research interests include primary care behavioral health, PTSD and trauma informed care, and brief interventions. In her free time, Mara enjoys playing with her dog (Archie), watching true crime documentaries on Netflix, and spending time with friends and family.
Nicole Buhr is a first year in the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2023 with a B.S in Psychology and a minor in Art History. She spent the next year working as a post-bacc research assistant at the University of Texas at Austin and as a behavioral health intern within an integrated pediatric primary care clinic. Her research interests include pediatric primary care behavioral health, PCBH screening and pathways, and BHC/PCP working relationships. In her free time, Nicole enjoys hanging out with her dog Eddie, spending time outdoors, and going to the gym.

Andy Cable is an undergraduate senior at East Tennessee State University majoring in Psychology with a concentration in clinical psychological sciences. She took the opportunity in her early twenties to travel throughout the east coast and had the privilege to partake in motivational speaking at workshops and conferences. She has worked in healthcare, administration, retail, financial advisement, and operations in multiple states. Most recently, she worked in the field of law as a legal assistant and notary before attending ETSU. Her research interests include increasing access to behavioral health services in primary care settings and research with PTSD, substance abuse disorder (SUD), and trauma informed care. In her free time, Andy enjoys painting, music, time with family and friends, video games, suspenseful movies, hiking, and her 2 cats (Greed and Envy).

Allen Archer worked as a research assistant in the Institute for Integrated Behavioral Health under the direction of Dr. Aubrey Dueweke during the 2021-2022 academic year. He is now attending medical school at the Quillen College of Medicine in pursuit of a dual MD/MPH degree with a focus on providing primary care to underserved populations.
Baylee Rose worked as a research assistant in the EASI lab during the 2023-2024 academic year. Her research interests included increasing access to behavioral health services in primary care settings and how psychological well-being affects mental and physical health.
