Association of Computing Machinery
The ACM at ETSU is a student organization centered around all aspects of computing. Check our announcements channel in our Discord server for details on meeting times and locations. Honor Society
Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) is an international honor society for the field of computer science. UPE aims to recognize and promote academic excellence in the computing discipline, encourage high standards of professional and ethical behavior, and foster a community of like-minded individuals passionate about computer science. Cybersecurity Club
History
The Cybersecurity Club was founded in the fall of 2022 with the vision of nurturing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Led by Club Advisor Dr. Biju Bajracharya and Club President Preston Cunningham, the club has quickly established itself as a dynamic presence in the cybersecurity community. Since its inception, the club has actively participated in a variety of prestigious cybersecurity competitions, both regionally and globally, earning recognition for its technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and outstanding teamwork.
Introduction
Cyber Security Club, or "Cyberbucs", is a new but ambitious student run club that provides opportunities for students to expand their knowledge about Cybersecurity, go to competitions, connect with other people passionate about Cybersecurity, and more.
Cyber Security Club is open to all students regarless of experience level or academic majors. Cybersecurity is a diverse field that requires people from all backgrounds. To operate we need business, legal, and administrative expertise. To secure and preform security audits (basically sanctioned hacking), we use programming, investigatory, hardware/embedded, web, networking, social (engineering), and more skills. However, the most important skill is a desire to learn. There is a place for everyone in the Cyber Security Club.Mission
To cultivate a collaborative learning environment that enhances students' understanding of cybersecurity, develops essential skills, and builds the confidence needed to excel in the ever-evolving digital landscape, preparing them for the challenges of the cybersecurity industry.
National Cybersecurity Students Association Chapter
The club has been established as a new chapter of the National Cybersecurity Students Association, starting in Fall 2024.
Cybersecurity Competitions & Achievements
The Cybersecurity Club has consistently excelled in various competitions, demonstrating its technical capabilities and commitment to excellence on national and global stages. Here are some of our notable achievements:
- CyberForce Competition (2024) – 25th National Rank out of 96 teams
- HiveStrom Competition (2024) - 30th out of 446 teams
- Mitre eCTF (2024) – 17th Global Rank
