Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education

Do you want to be a special education teacher?

Candidates wishing to get their initial licensure in teaching special education have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Special Education. 

Special education licensure programs in Tennessee are non-categorical covering intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, orthopedic impairments and emotional disturbance. Students planning to teach in those states requiring categorical certification should meet with their advisor(s) to plan their programs according to the certification/licensure requirements of those states.

Dr. Nyarambi is a contact person for students who identify themselves as International and/or diverse and feel that they need special support for adapting and adjusting as they pursue their studies.
