The Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree is a four-year dual degree program. Students at the Quillen College of Medicine can simultaneously pursue a master's degree from ETSU's College of Business and Technology in addition to their medical degree.
Important Information:
Students applying to the MD/MBA dual degree program must first have been accepted to the Quillen College of Medicine to be eligible for consideration. Applicants to the dual degree program must receive authorization from the Quillen College of Medicine Admissions Office prior to completing the program application. Students seeking admission to this special program should be sure to choose the graduate school application for the combined MD/MBA program and NOT simply the MBA.
Doctor of Medicine applicants who are accepted into the MBA program and who do not have an undergraduate degree in a business field must successfully complete a self-guided online module-based program prior to enrolling in any of the following courses:
- BADM 5150
- BADM 5180
- BADM 5430
- BADM 5500
- MKTG 5217
Access to the online modules will be available upon acceptance to the MD/MBA program.
Structure
Students may choose to participate in a 2-year or 3-year cohort option in order to complete the MBA program. In order to complete the MBA portion of the degree prior to graduating with the MD, students may apply to begin the MBA degree in the fall term of their first, second, or third year of medical school. The QCOM Registrars office and the college of business and technology will work with the student to create a schedule of completion for the MBA courses.
