This page will help guide you through the steps needed for first-year medical students to apply for financial aid. As you proceed through the steps make sure to click on the links and follow the directions. Some steps may have more than one link to complete. After completing each step, you may either click the back button on your browser or exit the website to return to this page.
Step 1: Create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID)
To be able to apply for financial aid online and sign your application electronically, you will need an FSA username and password. If you created one during undergrad move to Step 2. If not to establish a username and password from the Department of Education you must apply online.This can be used each year to electronically apply for Federal Student Aid and to access your U.S. Department of Education records online. Your FSA ID serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records.
Step 2: Complete your FAFSA Application
2025-2026: Use income/tax information from the 2023 tax year. School code is E00171. Please omit parental information even if they claimed you on taxes. Question 4 choose the graduate options. Set to up open on December 1st, 2024.

Step 2: To review other scholarship opportunities click the scholarship drop down arrow to the left and review all scholarships opportunities under Institutional, Contract and External. Apply for any scholarships that you are interested in and if the scholarship is closed check back periodically.
Step 4: Veterans/HPSP Students
Veterans- "Thank you" for your service, we are pleased to have you here and look forward to getting your benefits set up smoothly. Please submit your DD214 and C.O.E. to our office and let us know if you will be using your benefits while at Quillen. We will share this information with the admissions office, bursars and the Veterans Dept.
HPSP- If you are planning on applying for the Health Professions Scholarship Program please let us know which branch you are applying to and provide a copy of your Oath of Office when you commission. We share this information with the bursars office for billing.
We will send out an email with our Veterans dept contact information and ask that you contact them to make sure your benefits goes smoothly and know if there should be any issues you can contact our office and we will help you resolve it.
Step 5: How You Will Receive Your Award Packet
Award Packets are sent by email and will have several PDF attachments. Some attachments must be saved to your computer as PDFs, completed and returned to our office. The attachments will be your award letter that includes any scholarships, Direct Loans you have been offered and your authorization form. Several attachments are FYI information such as the current budget, steps to apply for loans (same as below), and direct deposit steps.
