The Center for Cardiovascular Risk Research (CCRR) is dedicated to identifying the risk factors and proven preventative strategies for heart disease to help our community understand and improve their cardiovascular health. To meet our goals, we rely on community volunteers who are willing to share their experience and knowledge of the area to identify key issues affecting the heart health of Central and South Central Appalachians and provide oversight for our research activities. Our Community Advisory Council (CAC) provides support by;
- Participating in quarterly meetings
- Sharing experience and knowledge of heart disease
- Providing feedback about our research
- Helping improve heart health care for everyone in our region
