8th Annual Celebration of Jazz at ETSU Martin Center's Powell Recital Hall
The Johnson City Jazz Festival presents two exciting nights of world-class jazz as part of its 8th Annual four-day festival. Join us at 8:00 PM on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18 for performances by four outstanding ensembles.
This year we have young, innovative bands just getting started as well as internationally known veterans with more than 40 years of playing with the greats. All have exciting sets of original music and excellent players.
Friday, April 17 (8 to 10 PM)
• The Moon Unit – A Durham, NC guitar trio blending jazz, funk, and progressive rock
with high-energy improvisation.
• The Emma Hedrick Quintet – Internationally acclaimed, award-winning jazz vocalist
and composer known for her original sound and performances across the U.S. and Europe.

• The Vance Thompson Quintet – Led by Grammy-nominated bandleader and founder of the
