Go Beyond
Vision to Action
In March of 2017, the ETSU Board of Trustees approved a ten-year strategic plan, charting the course for the institution from 2017 to 2026 — the 125th anniversary of the university’s founding. To ensure that the organization remains aligned with its purpose, is on course to achieve its objectives, and is adaptive to changing environments, ETSU undertook a strategic visioning process, ETSU 125, which engaged a variety of stakeholders across the campus, the region, and the nation. This process was completed in two phases, which have been referred to as the Committee for 125 Chapter 1 and the Committee for 125 Chapter 2. As a result of these endeavors, the institution’s leaders worked to revise ETSU’s master plan in the fall of 2022. The revised plan, Go Beyond: ETSU’s Strategic Plan through 2026, was approved by the University Council and the Board of Trustees in November of 2022. Go Beyond incorporates new strategics and tactics, key performance indicators, and peer comparisons. The overarching goals of the plan remain fundamentally unchanged from 2017.
