As Deputy University Counsel, Ms. Lennon-McGrew provides strategic legal counsel to university leadership and the Board of Trustees on matters including governance and policy development, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, litigation management, employment law, financial aid, student conduct, tax issues, charitable giving, and estate-related matters. Within the Department of Athletics, she advises on business, employment, and game contracts; NCAA and conference compliance, including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) and revenue-sharing initiatives; Title IX compliance; risk management; and employment-related matters.
Ms. Lennon-McGrew joined ETSU in 2016 when she was charged with building the department's compliance infrastructure and leading the transition to an electronic compliance management system. She has previously served as Senior Woman Administrator, a Senior Associate Athletics Director, and sport supervisor for a variety of sports. She has extensive experience in athletics administration, NCAA compliance, waiver processes, investigations, executive oversight of compliance, academics, and sports medicine. She has also led the department's human resources functions and continues to play an active role in donor relations. Throughout her tenure, she led numerous coaching searches, negotiated coaching employment agreements, and chaired the search committee for the University's head men's basketball coach.
Ms. Lennon-McGrew was named Interim University Counsel effective January 2026 and continues to provide strategic legal guidance and counsel to university leadership on complex institutional and operational matters.
