Records Requests
In accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated Section 10-7-503, Records Open to Public Inspection, all records made or received in connection with the transaction of official East Tennessee State University business shall at all times, during business hours, be open for personal inspection by any citizen of Tennessee unless otherwise provided by law or regulations made pursuant thereto; and the citizen shall have the right to make copies in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated Section 10-7-506.
Any questions concerning public records requests or the ETSU Public Records Policy should be directed to the Office of University Relations. To file a public records request, please complete the Public Records Request Formand submit it to Joe Smith, Executive Assistant to the President for University Relations/Chief Communications Officer. The Office of University Relations generally charges for the actual cost of making public records available. Fees are based on the amount of staff time required, a per-page fee for photocopies, and any mailing or delivery charges. Fee waivers are granted in certain circumstances.
